Re: auction alert North Carolina
$60 bucks?
You are freakin' kiddin' me.....good job, but you said you basically paid $180.00 total?
I was gonna go fro these, but I am broke,,, you lucked out ;^) !
Wonder what's in those 816's?
I am starting to like South Carolina a bit more than when I first moved here a while ago.
I have the mountains/ocean a 1 1/2 away, and cool little cities like Charleston, Charlotte, Savannah not to far either. Also, it seems I have found some nice deals really close to me, and some I have had to miss out on.....
I was gonna jump on this , but the 15'x5' metal scoreboard dissuaded me from getting them, The guy says they are "Ross" speakers, MDL- 12s?, but those horns looks awfully like a 511/811, right?

Too bad too, it is only 30-45 minutes away........

Re: auction alert North Carolina
So they cost you 180...want some cheese with that whine?:)
I think they will be 515G's and 299...if you decide to go to 288 instead let me know, I'd be interested in the 299's or 299 frams...
I'm thinking of a small system, just as a hobby. Know a couple of the local blues rock acts that need pub sound occasionally...been a LONG time since I did any of that...it would give me an excuse to get out on Saturday nite.

Ross would be Bud Ross. Used to own Kustom. Owns it now I think, or part.

No way 511, kinda doubt 811. Most likely a clone horn with a screw on driver.
Re the scoreboard. Drive there. Rent a U-Haul pickup at 19.95/day...they rip you off on mileage, but just drive there and pick up the scoreboard...the drive it to the nearest junkyard. Return the truck and go get the rest. Use the junkyard money to offset the rental...you shouldn't be out much.
Sound like I've been there a couple times?:D

OG,
I will not be able to lift by myself or with another. Indeed , I like your way of thinking and work ethic, working smart/ not hard and letting the scoreboard scrap proceeds offset costs, but it is not doable. I am heading to Tallahassee tomorrow to pick up the 620 cabs, if things go well.
I have to do one man operations, 2 @ best.
AbG,
I have some 817's if you're interested??? Here's a link....

I know but your so far away.... and I think your 817's are MDF aren't they? I'd rather have plywood or the OSB type stuff that the 816's are likely made of.
Re: auction alert North Carolina
AbG, yeah that is right,,, my short term is getting a bit hazy....
I think they are osb/ply, more osb than anything, will double check....
